Jeff Beck's first tour of Japan as a solo artist was part of the "World Rock Festival" in August 1975. The event, organized by Yuya Uchida, best known for her appearances as the opening act for the Beatles in 1966, lasted three days (August 3rd). in Sapporo, August 5th in Nagoya and August 7th in Tokyo). All three sets were recorded. The New York Dolls were also part of the line-up, making for an interesting duo. Jeff Beck visited Japan after an extended trip through North America to promote Blow By Blow, his most successful album to date. Later in the year he would play three more shows before taking a break to record.
