"I happen to be on the East Coast in New York City. And People magazine hired me to photograph Roger Waters. One of the people in Pink Floyd who had started a solo career. He lived out on Long Island. This is a suburb of New York City. And he lived near the beach.

I went to Long Island and we couldn't photograph him at his house. I think we took a picture of him in front of his house and then we went to the beach, and there happened to be a run-down old house that looked like it had been destroyed by a storm. And I don't know how long it's been there, but I positioned it in front of it because it looked kind of surreal to me like Pink Floyd. We saw it by accident. And I thought that made a little bit of sense, because he's Roger Waters, after all. He wasn't the type to do a lot of photo shoots, so I was lucky to be assigned the story and get to do the shoot with him." - NEAL
