"One day I got a call from a girl named Mary from
Tom Petty's office. She asked what I was going to do today. When I
asked why, she said, "yes, so Tom is doing some shots at
Dave Stewart's (from the Eurythmics) house today with some mates, and
he wanted to know if you could come over and take some quick
pictures?" "Sure," I said, asking for the address. She
said Tom would call me again about it.

When the phone rang again 15 minutes later, Tom Petty said to
me, "Talk to George, he can show you the way." And
he handed the phone to George Harrison. I thought he'd give me a
roadie named George or something. But it was really George
Harrison and of course I recognized that accent right away. I
couldn't believe it, but I wrote down the address – somewhere in
Encino, I lived nearby anyway.

So I drive to Dave Stewart's house and there are Tom Petty,
George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynn – and me.
There might have been an assistant and a roadie, but no one else.
Believe me, that would never happen today! This was absolutely unusual, even
at the time. It was all completely surreal! One
thing in particular stuck in my mind, and that was that everyone
was concerned about Bob Dylan's mood. No photos before
Bob is ready! George came over to me and said, "I think Bob
is about to go, what do you think?" I just thought it
didn't matter what I thought... In any case, it was very amazing to see these
four greats waiting until Bob Dylan was finally ready." - NEAL
