"David Bowie played at Radio City Music Hall in New York on Valentine's Day 1973. At that time he was still in his Ziggy Stardust mode and this photo always had a certain Marlene Dietrich atmosphere in my opinion. I love the knitted outfit he's wearing. He was so theatrical, it was great to photograph him.
The promoter made some prints from this show a few months later, I got back a very nice letter from him saying that these photos were true art. That it was more than just photos of a rock star, that it was art, and that was the first time anyone had ever said something like that." - NEAL
