People magazine had given me the assignment and I was never a big hip-hop fan, and I had photographed him with N.W.A. before and didn't know he was the same guy. Who had been in N.W.A.? In any case, after photographing him in the control room of his own recording studio, I realized that he would never let that happen again. It was a very, very, very rare opportunity.
